Our Mission
MSNZ’s mission is to improve the lives of people with MS, their families, whānau, and carers by providing national leadership and advocacy, sharing accurate and up-to-date information, and supporting regional organisations to deliver community-led services.
We promote internationally recognised MS Brain Health principles and encourage resilience, self-management, and preventative health strategies. We believe that evidence-based information, positive attitudes, and healthy lifestyle choices can make a real difference in managing symptoms and achieving better long-term health outcomes.
Our People
At the heart of MSNZ is a dedicated team committed to supporting the MS community across Aotearoa.
This section introduces the passionate individuals who drive our mission from our leadership and governance board to our staff, volunteers, and regional representatives.
Each person brings valuable experience, insight, and a shared commitment to improving the lives of people living with MS. Learn more about the people who make our work possible and how their efforts shape the services and support we deliver nationwide.
Organisational Structure
MSNZ works with 18 regional member organisations across New Zealand.
Each Regional Society appoints an office holder to represent them on the National Council. Regional Societies are grouped into four Clusters, and each Cluster nominates a representative to sit on the MSNZ National Executive Committee.
Additionally, three independent members are elected by the National Council for two-year terms. The Executive Committee elects the President and Vice President from within its members and can co-opt up to two additional members as needed.
The National Executive Committee is the governing body that oversees, directs, and resources the operations and activities of MSNZ. All members act in the best interests of MSNZ and the Regional Societies as a whole.
Our Partners and Funders
MSNZ is proud to work alongside a wide network of partners and funders who share our commitment to improving the lives of people with Multiple Sclerosis across Aotearoa.
