Our Structure

Multiple Sclerosis NZ is a national organisation with a structure designed to support people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their whānau throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Our approach is collaborative, ensuring that both national leadership and regional responsiveness work together to meet the needs of our community.

Our structure ensures that Multiple Sclerosis NZ can provide strong national leadership while empowering local societies to respond to the unique needs of people living with MS. This collaborative model helps us deliver consistent, high-quality support and advocacy across New Zealand.

We are proud of our structure which has existed for 60 years and continues to be a source of our strength, uniqueness and community

National Executive Committee

At the heart of Multiple Sclerosis NZ is the National Executive Committee, the governing body responsible for setting the strategic direction, policies, and priorities of the organisation. The Committee oversees operations, ensures financial accountability, and supports the ongoing development of Multiple Sclerosis NZ and our member organisations.

All members of our National Executive Committee are volunteers dedicating countless hours to progress our mission.

Our Members - Regional MS Societies

Multiple Sclerosis NZ works in partnership with 18 regional MS societies spread across the country. Regional societies deliver local support, information, and services tailored to the needs of their communities. Each regional society operates as its own legal entity, employing staff and fundraising to deliver for local services, but is supported by Multiple Sclerosis NZ through resources, training, and national advocacy.

Our Staff

A dedicated team of professional staff drives Multiple Sclerosis NZ’s national operations, delivering national information, advocacy and fundraising initiatives.

Collaboration and Networks

Multiple Sclerosis NZ maintains strong relationships with a range of partners, including health professionals, government agencies, research institutions, and other non-profit organisations. These collaborations help amplify our impact and ensure that people with MS have access to the best possible support and information.
