Key Resources for Family Carers
- Regional MS Societies:
- Each regional MS society has skilled Community Support Staff who provide one-on-one advice, arrange social groups, exercise classes, and support meetings, and can help you access further services and funding.
- Regional societies also offer information and educational resources about MS and its management.
- Carers NZ:
- Carers NZ provides a national helpline, downloadable guides (including the Guide for Carers), and online resources to help carers navigate their role and access support services
- Their website features practical advice, planning tools, and up-to-date information on financial help, respite care, and more.
- Online Learning and Webinars:
- MSNZ and regional societies offer webinars on topics such as newly diagnosed MS, fatigue management, relationships, and supporting children and whānau

- The Health Passport is a booklet that helps you and your loved one communicate with health professionals by recording symptoms and important information
- MSNZ also provides MS Diagnosis Cards to help explain your loved one’s needs in public or emergency situations.
