Come join our team – Administration Coordinator

People ISO

(12 September 2025)

We’re on the hunt for someone who loves administration, is keen to support a small busy team and wants to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand (MSNZ) is the peak body supporting 18 regional multiple sclerosis (MS) organisations across Aotearoa delivering national advocacy, information, education and raising awareness for MS as a condition affecting over 5000 New Zealanders.

Our small and committed team is needing a support person to take on daily administrative functions, keeping us running smoothly, enabling the organisation to deliver on its strategic mission.

This role is very much a support level role, so would appeal to early career administrators. The role is diverse and will connect you across all areas of the organisation. A ‘can-do’, wanting to get stuck in and help attitude is a must as you will help to keep our administrative systems running efficiently, maintaining records, coordinate the distribution of resources, and take minutes when needed.

As you will be the central point for contacts on our phone line and email, you should be a confident communicator who is able to maintain boundaries to ensure information is delivered appropriately.

You will undertake everyday finance processes on Xero and fundraising systems, inputting payables, reconciling, receipting. You will help to organise the logistics for meetings and events throughout the year, booking travel and accommodation.

Your administrative skills, and willingness to help will be put to good use as you support our busy Communications and Fundraising Leads, delivering both internal and external communications. Experience with preparing e-newsletter, websites, content proofing and social media content is highly desired. You will also be hands-on helping to deliver awareness campaigns and generate funding to enable us to execute our mission and amplify our impact in the communities we serve.

We are looking for a team player to join our small but close team who are always willing to help each other out. While some of our team work remotely across Aotearoa, this role is Christchurch based as some tasks require clearing our post box and sending out resources. Part of the role can be fulfilled working from home. You should have proven experience with being able to work efficiently at home, being a self-starter and self-motivator.

This is an early career level role for someone interested in administration and team support work. We are looking for applications from people who can demonstrate:

  • Administrative skills and experience
  • A can-do, supportive attitude
  • Experience with remote team working
  • Motivated self-starter and team player attributes
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Efficiency and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages (Office 365 and Projects preferred), Xero and CRM systems is preferred
  • While experience in the not-for-profit, but for-purpose sector is desired, it is not essential.
  • Appreciation of our limitations as a not-for-profit

MSNZ is a growing organisation in an exciting era of development, on the pathway to advocate for service excellence for those affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) across Aotearoa. If you are looking for a meaningful role where you can provide support to the wider team by utilising your administrative skills we look forward to receiving your application.

Apply now and bring your skills to a role that really matters.

Applications are only open for two weeks, closing on Friday 26th September.
