Events

Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand (MSNZ) is proud to be involved in a wide range of national and international events that raise funds, increase awareness, and support people affected by MS across Aotearoa. Whether you want to join a fundraising adventure, support a campaign, or help raise awareness in your community, there’s an event for everyone.

Bangers to Bluff 2026

The Bangers to Bluff ® Rally is an annual charity event organised by the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay (Inc). It’s a fun road trip from Auckland to Bluff with a bunch of like-minded adventurers, driving down some of New Zealand’s most beautiful and lesser-known routes. Over the years, tons of lasting friendships have been made – even solo drivers end up joining groups of 4 or 5 (yeah, it’s a bit cramped, but totally worth it!). Ages range from 7 to 91, so it’s all about anyone who’s up for the ride.

The money raised goes to Multiple Sclerosis NZ and community and youth-focused Rotary Charities.

World MS Day – 30 May

As a member of the MS International Federation (MSIF), MSNZ is proud to participate in World MS Day, the only global awareness campaign for Multiple Sclerosis. Each year, the worldwide MS movement comes together to share information, raise awareness, and advocate for the more than two million people living with MS globally.
2024 Theme: My MS Diagnosis

The “My MS Diagnosis” campaign focuses on the importance of early and accurate diagnosis, highlighting global barriers and sharing real stories. The campaign calls for better MS training for healthcare professionals, new research, and advances in clinical diagnosis.

Watch the MSIF animation featuring real voices and diagnosis journeys from people with MS worldwide.

MS Awareness Campaigns

Each year, MSNZ runs a nationwide campaign to increase awareness of MS, a chronic condition affecting more than 5,000 people in New Zealand. Our campaigns empower people with knowledge, advocate for better access to treatments, and support people to live well with MS.

Current Campaign: Time Matters in MS
Launched in 2024, this three-year campaign focuses on recognising the early symptoms of MS and the importance of timely diagnosis. The campaign aims to educate the public and health professionals so more people can recognise the signs, take action, and get diagnosed sooner.
