Welcome to our May 2026 edition of MS Voice, your go-to place for the latest news, updates and real life stories from Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand.

In this edition of MS Voice we excitedly tell you how much funds and awareness Bangers to Bluff 2026 has made, we inform you that Pharmac is currently reviewing its Exceptional Circumstances Framework and invite you to provide your thoughts on how the process can be improved for patients, and we introduce you to our new Fundraising and Donor Relations Lead, Damon Rusden.

We share the story of Hollie, a person with MS that was diagnosed at just 26 years old, and we launch a podcast on the wider impact the diagnosis of MS has on the children and whanau with MS Otago’s Katie Burns and Registered Social Worker Tillie Lassman.

As our ongoing feature topic ‘Your Healthcare Team’ continues, we introduce you to Benson Chen, a Neurologist with expertise in neuro-immunological conditions. We thank Benson for generously sharing his expertise with us, and explaining the role of a Neurologist.

This month’s newsletter ends with our giveaway courtesy of Allied Medical – we have a leg lifter up for grabs, so enter the competition now, then submit your story for a second entry and chance to win!
