Regional MS societies are at the heart of support for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), their whānau, carers, and employers across Aotearoa New Zealand. These societies provide a wide range of essential services, tailored to the needs of their local communities.

Community Advisors offer one-on-one guidance, practical advice, and emotional support.

  • Personalised Support

    • Community Support Staff and field officers offer one-on-one guidance, practical advice, and emotional support.
    • They help you navigate diagnosis, treatment, and daily life with MS, connecting you with resources and services in your area.
  • Education and Information 

    • Access to up-to-date information about MS, its symptoms, and management.
    • Regular educational opportunities and training for both staff and members.
  • Community Connection
    • Support groups, social activities, and exercise classes to reduce isolation and build connections.
  • Advocacy and representation for people with MS locally
    • Assistance with accessing health, disability, and social services.
    • Advocacy and representation for people with MS at local and national levels.

Who Can Access Support?

    • Whether newly diagnosed or living with MS for many years, everyone is welcome.
  • Families, Whānau, and Carers

    • Support is available for those who care for or support someone with MS.
  • Employers 

    • Societies can provide information and advice to help employers support employees with MS.

    • Help communicate your needs in public or emergency situations.
  • Health Passport
    • A booklet to record your symptoms and needs for health appointments.
  • Access to Allied Health Professionals

    • Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and needs assessors to support independence and well-being.
